The desire of C4 is to reach out to our local community by serving those in need, in Jesus’ name, actions we’re referring to as "Feet on the Street" (FOTS) initiatives.
Serving in Jesus’ name means serving with the authority He gives and not our own authority. It means acting within His limits, as His agents, to His credit, and for His benefit. Our motivation is His love, with the purpose of advancing His Kingdom.
"God's purpose hasn't changed in two thousand years. He still wants the masses to find his Son, and that's why we pitch in to serve. It's not about just doing something nice that lasts for a few hours, a few days, or even a few years. We aren’t compelled to give what others want, but we are compelled to help meet their needs - the greatest of which is finding life in the name of Jesus." ~ Quoting Tom Ellsworth in "Beyond Your Backyard: Stepping out to Serve Others."
How is C4 Getting its "Feet on the Street!"
To read stories about our involvement in serving Durham Region, have a look at the following:
Through Feet on the Street, C4 has built relationships with various local agencies which are already meeting needs in Durham Region. These agencies offer volunteer opportunities which are FOTS endorsed. C4 adherents who are interested in volunteering at one of the following agencies are encouraged to complete the FOTS Application Form and to speak with Angela Mason, City Care Pastor (tel. 905-686-4450 x165).
