The Carruthers Creek Story
Bethel Bible Chapel
Our history begins in the fall of 1985! A small group of Christians, with a vision for a new church, transplanted Bethel Bible Church from Toronto to the growing suburb of Pickering. Under the leadership and ministry of Rev. David Collins, this committed group of 40 individuals initially met in a school, where they grew to a congregation of 200.

In 1990 we moved into our new facility on Kingston Road, and Steeple Hill Community Bible Church was born! Growth and change continued to be a part of our ministry and by 1994 it became evident that the new facilities were no longer adequate. This led to a second building project and a move to Ajax High School. At this point the church was renamed, “Carruthers Creek Community Church,” in order to identify better with the new community being built around it.

In June 1999 the congregation moved into its new 46,000 square foot facility. “C4”, as we affectionately call ourselves, has continued to grow along with a diversity of ministry. Rev. Jon Thompson became Senior Pastor in 2005 and, along with a ministry and support staff of about 20, C4 now exceeds an attendance of 1,000 each Sunday morning.
